Use case · Merchant services & POS resellers
See which restaurants and shops run Toast, Square or Clover before you reach out
ISO agents, merchant services sales reps and POS resellers (Clover, Toast, Square and others) selling to restaurants, retail and salons.
The job
Find high-transaction local businesses, see which ordering or POS provider they show online, and pitch a switch or upgrade to the owner.
How it is usually done today
- Walking in cold without knowing what system a business runs.
- Buying pay-per-lead lists shared with other agents.
- Clicking through each restaurant’s "Order online" button by hand.
Why that hurts
- A pitch that ignores the merchant’s current provider rarely lands.
- Shared leads are already contacted by competitors.
- Owner-level contacts for small merchants are hard to find.
How LeadMerlin does it
- 1
Search high-transaction niches
Restaurants, pizza, liquor stores, salons, coffee shops.
- 2
Read the ordering column
web.tech.ordering shows storefronts detected on the homepage: Toast, Square, Clover, ChowNow, Slice, DoorDash storefront, Shopify and more.
- 3
Segment your pitch
Competitor-POS merchants get a switch offer; merchants on third-party marketplaces only get a direct-ordering pitch.
- 4
Contact the owner
Owner name and verified email first; line type keeps cold calls on business landlines.
Search, then group by detected ordering provider
curl -X POST "https://api.leadmerlin.com/api/v2/searches" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADMERLIN_API_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"keyword":"roofing contractor","location_codes":[1026201],"strictness":"moderate"}'
curl "https://api.leadmerlin.com/api/v2/jobs/$JOB_ID/results?limit=200" \
-H "x-api-key: $LEADMERLIN_API_KEY"
# web.tech.ordering: e.g. ["toast"], ["square"], ["doordash_storefront"], [] Location codes in these examples are placeholders — always look yours up with GET /v2/locations first.
What comes back
Most useful for this job:
- web.tech.ordering: online ordering and POS storefronts linked or embedded on the homepage.
- Owner name, verified email, phone and line type.
- Rating and review count as a traffic signal.
Every field on an enriched lead
- Google Business Profile basics: name, category, address, rating, review count, claimed status, GBP URL, CID
- Owner name and a short business summary, extracted from the website by an LLM when the site states them
- Every email found, labelled verified / catch-all / invalid / unverified, with role-based and free-provider flags
- Phones from the listing and website; the main number (Google listing first) gets line type (mobile, landline, VoIP, toll-free) and carrier, up to your plan's monthly line-type allowance
- Tech stack: CMS, CDN, server, chat widget, online booking tool, online ordering / POS storefront, review widgets, analytics, frameworks, ad pixels
- Social profiles, services, service areas, year established when stated
- Raw text, title and meta description of up to 5 crawled pages per site
Limits and honest caveats
- We see the online ordering provider a business links to, not the card terminal at the counter or its processing volume.
- Detection reads the homepage; ordering buttons that load only after a click can be missed.
- Cold calling mobile numbers with autodialers is restricted under the TCPA, B2B included. Use line type and check the rules that apply to you.

- Off-niche listings removed by the niche filter are never charged.
- Failed enrichments are refunded automatically.
- A search charges only what your balance covers: with 40 credits left, it enriches the 40 top-ranked matches. Set max_leads to cap any search.
- Locations, niche suggestions, polling and demo endpoints are free.
- Phone line-type lookups have a monthly allowance: 100 on the free start, 1,000 Starter, 2,000 Pro, 4,000 Agency. Numbers looked up before are free. Past the allowance, phones still come back without a line type.
