Plumbers leads, ready for outreach.
Plumbing is an emergency-driven, phone-first business. Owners care about who calls them at 2 a.m. with a burst pipe, which makes call tracking, local SEO and review management the easiest things to sell them.
Google categories to target
These are real Google Business Profile categories. LeadMerlin's /v2/suggest endpoint returns category and keyword suggestions for any niche, and every finished job reports a count per category.
Who sells to plumbers
- Local SEO and Google Business Profile agencies
- Call tracking and answering services
- Home-service CRM and dispatch software
- Water heater and fixture distributors
The fields that matter for this niche
phone_type + carrier Many small shops list the owner's cell. A mobile line usually means you reach the decision-maker, not a dispatcher.
services.list / specialties Separates drain-only and septic outfits from full-service plumbers, so the offer matches what they actually sell.
services.areas Service-area businesses often cover several suburbs. Useful for proposing city landing pages.
reputation.reviews Review count is a quick proxy for size and marketing maturity in a crowded local market.
Outreach signals to filter on
Every enriched lead includes its website text and tech fingerprint. Your spreadsheet, script or AI agent can filter on these signals before anyone writes an email.
| Signal | Where it shows up | Outreach angle |
|---|---|---|
| No chat widget on the site | web.tech.chat = null | Missed after-hours leads: pitch chat-to-text or an answering service. |
| Running Google Ads | web.tech.advertising includes 'google_ads' | They already pay for leads, so lead quality, call tracking and Local Services Ads management are relevant. |
| Fewer reviews than the top 3 in their city | reputation.reviews vs rank | A review-generation offer with a concrete gap: "the top three have 300+, you have 40". |
Sample request
Search plumbers in Austin, TX with strictness: "moderate". Up to five location codes fit in one job. You are charged 1 credit per business that has a website. Listings without a website and off-niche results are free.
curl -X POST https://api.leadmerlin.com/api/v2/searches \
-H "x-api-key: lm_your_key" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"keyword":"plumber","location_codes":[1026201],"strictness":"moderate"}'
Then poll GET /v2/jobs/:id and page through /v2/jobs/:id/results. Want to see the response shape first? The demo endpoints need no key.
Honest caveats
- Franchise brands (e.g. national drain franchises) show up under local names; the owner field often returns the franchisee, sometimes nothing.
- Single-truck plumbers frequently have no website. Those listings are free in LeadMerlin (skipped) but get no email enrichment.
- Owner names come from the business's own website text. Fill rates vary by niche and by how much a site says about its people.
